Ive been trying to get macOS High Sierra installed on a 1TB Samsung 860 QVO SSD with no luck. So for now it does not matter at all on which drive you put it. Games are not coded to be read from the ssd instantly fully. If my SSD is 3.5 GB/s read shouldn’t it be able to read the entire 100GB game in like 28 seconds? So loading a small section of a game should take much less time no?įirst let me say that I am in NO MEANS AN EXPERT (just giving my 2 cents) I think that pretty much everything on an NVMe SSD, it might not be much faster, but since you have 2TB, I think that you have the room to put your most played games on there.
I never understood how an SSD can have 3500 MB/s read 3200 MB/s write yet some games still have significant load times. I know Read Dead Redemption has one of the longest load times I’ve seen in a while so would I benefit putting it and other long load time games on the NVMe?
